A qualified instructor will accompany you throughout your first dive to help you discover the sensations of underwater gravity, as well as the fauna and flora of the Indian Ocean. If you’re not comfortable in the water, your diving instructor will adapt his method to ensure that you have the safest possible experience. Discover a totally different and magical world, an unforgettable experience.
The dives are programmed each day, depending on the level of the divers, the tides, the currents and what we want to discover. All our morning dives are double boulder / double tank dives, at two different dive sites. The area offers more than 20 unique sites to explore. We make sure that every dive you make is at a different site, so that you can explore as much of the seabed as possible during your stay with us.
There are colourful coralligenous formations (hard and soft coral), giant gorgonians and an incredible diversity of reef fauna. Nosy Be is a veritable nursery for a multitude of species.
Humpback whales (megaptera novaeangliae) pass along Nosy Be between August and October on their annual migration up with the cold currents of the southern Indian Ocean. Whale sharks, oceanic manta and reef mobula come to feed on plankton in the area from October to January. It is not uncommon to see Omura whales (Baleianoptera Omurai) joining in the feast.
We also organise night dives for those looking to experience an even more thrilling and unique underwater adventure. After the sun sets, a whole new world awakens in the ocean. It’s a rare opportunity to see the ocean in a way that most people have never experienced. To make this experience even more special, we provide special goggles that allow you to better see the incredible bioluminescence – tiny organisms that light up the water like stars in the night sky. This unforgettable spectacle adds a touch of wonder to your dive, creating memories that will stay with you long after you resurface.
Although diving insurance is not compulsory, it is strongly recommended. Scuba diving is an extreme sport. Every year, there are many diving accidents around the world. Taking out this type of insurance means you don’t have to pay any major out-of-pocket expenses. Diving insurance not only covers costs, but also provides assistance in the event of an accident. Some insurers, such as DAN south africa, offer cover specifically for diving. This insurance is independent of travel insurance. Specific insurance provides good cover in the event of an accident, as well as assistance with repatriation, transport to hospital, etc. Aqua diving only accepts divers with specific insurance cover for underwater activities.
